Full use can be made of the wide-screen format with the added benefit that
it's a 'single' picture, which can be scan converted for recording or
uploading to the internet.
The pictures can be almost any ratio from traditional 4:3 (as above) to wide-screen
(as below) and any format from PAL to HDTV.
Links can be done via IP, Satellite, Fibre optic, Cat-5 or ISDN

Wide-screen simulation
This shows the satellite link from St.Thomas' Hospital to the Advanced
Cardiovascular Intervention Conference at the London Metropole Hotel
in January 2009. It was done in a 4:3 ratio and SDI PAL.
PCPtechnical has been providing medical links from Operating Theatres to Presentation
Rooms since 2003.
Signals from sources such as fluoroscopy (x-ray), echo (ultrasound) and ECG
are switched with one or two camera sources to provide clear and meaningful
pictures in the presentation room. The transmitted signal can be switched between full
screen images or a combination of smaller images as appropriate during the
event.
